DAL WITH CAPSICUM-MUSHROOMS

30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Grind ginger & garlic to a paste.
  • Cook the soaked dal in a pan with turmeric, cloves, ghee, bay leaf, salt and measured water for 15 -20 minutes.
  • Simmer and cook for further 5-7 minutes.
  • Add oil into the pan , when hot add onion and sauté it for 2 minutes . then add the tomatoes , coriander powder and garam masala.
  • Finally add the mushrooms, ginger,garlic paste and capsicum , cook for 5 minutes on low flame .
  • Stir in the dal , mix well and serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 150 grams Yellow split peas , soaked
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder 
  • 2 teaspoon ghee 
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
  • 1 onion - chopped finely 
  • 1 tomato - chopped finely 
  • 50 grams mushrooms - chopped
  • 1 big capsicum - chopped finely 
  • ½" piece ginger
  • 3 flakes garlic - optional 
  • ½ teaspoon red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon garam masala 
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
