DAL DUMPLING GRAVY

Preparation Time :
40 minutes

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Extract tamarind juice.
  • Soak thoor dal in boiling water for 20 minutes and grind with asafoetida, curry leaves, rice and salt for the dumplings.
  • Pressure-cook the tamarind extract, turmeric powder, chilly powder, asafoetida and salt for 1 whistle.
  • In half a teaspoon of oil fry the paste for the dumplings to remove water; make balls and steam cook it for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil to allow mustard seeds to splutter; add to Gravy mixture. Drop balls in it and add enough water to cover it. Keep gas in medium and let it come to a boil.
  • serve hot with rice.

INGREDIENTS

  • Large lemon-sized ball tamarind
  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 2 teaspoon of  asafoetida powder
  • 1 teaspoon of chilly powder
  • 1 teaspoon of mustard seeds
  • 4 teaspoons of Cooking oil
  • Salt to taste

Masala for dumplings

  • 300 gram of thoor dal
  • 2 teaspoon of rice
  • 2 small marble-sized asafoetida
  • A few curry leaves
  • Salt to taste
