Preparation Method :
- Soak rice and spread over cloth to dry a little and powder.
- Grate coconut.
- Melt jaggery in water over fire and strain to remove scum.
- Half the cashews and fry in ghee.
- Powder cardamom.
- Fry rice powder to golden color while still wet.
- Boil a 200 ml of water, add turmeric powder and salt; sprinkle on rice powder and knead in a way that it remains a powdery consistency; add grated coconut and steam it like idles.
- Prepare jaggery syrup stirring well over the fire. Add little by little to the steamed rice and stir well. Ensure there are no lumps.
- While adding jaggery makes sure it remains crumbly & soft.
- Add fried cashew nuts and cardamom powder.
