Preparation Method :
- Soak the chana dal in 2 cups of water for at least one hour and then drain it.
- Cook in an open utensil till soft. don't mash.
- Extract the milk of the coconut to get 1½ cups liquid.
- To the cooked dal, add the jaggery. Keep on medium heat for about 2 minutes, stirring.
- Add the coconut milk and then the salt and cardamom powder and bring to a boil.
- Stir in the chopped cashewnuts and serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 100 grams chana dal / bengal gram
- 75 grams grated jaggery
- 200 grams grated coconut
- 1 pinch cardamom powder
- 2 tablespoons cashew nut pieces
- ¼ teaspoon salt
