Preparation Method :
- Rinse the rice and drain the rice for excess water.
- Add 3 tablespoons ghee in a pan and add the spices and fry for some time. Then add the rice and fry till slightly golden.
- Mix in the salt, cashewnuts and raisins. Cook rice with double the quantity of water and bring to boil.
- Cover and cook over low flame for 10 - 12 minutes or till the rice is cooked
- Finally, add the sugar, colour and saffron with remaining ghee and mix well. Remove from heat and serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 75 grams ghee / clarified butter
- 150 grams rice
- 150 grams sugar
- A few strands of saffron mixed in a 1 tablespoon of warm milk
- 4 cloves
- 4 cardamoms
- ½ -inch stick cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- 12 chopped cashewnuts
- 1 tablespoon raisins
- Few drops of yellow colour
