- Cook the milk in a large, heavy-based pan for about 1 hour or until it is reduced to a thick, lumpy consistency.
- Stir occasionally and make sure not to let the milk burn.
- Add the sugar and continue cooking for another 8-10 minutes.
- Spread the mixture on a lightly greased plate.
- Cut into wedges and serve cold, decorated with strips of varq.

- 1.5 litres full cream milk
- 4 tablespoons castor sugar
- 2 Chaandi ka varq (silver leaf), to decorate
