COCONUT BURFI

Serves :

Preparation Time :
15 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Heat the sugar with 1 cup water on low heat to make a thick syrup. Remove the scum from the syrup.
  • Add the grated coconut, food colour, crushed cardamoms. Mix well.
  • Turn off the heat while it still has a thick pouring consistency. Add the chopped cashew nuts. Mix well.
  • Grease a plate with ghee and set aside.
  • Pour the coconut mixture on the greased plate and quickly spread with a spatula.
  • After a few minutes cut into square shaped pieces with a sharp knife.
  • Store in an airtight container.

INGREDIENTS

  • 175 grams sugar
  • 150 grams grated fresh coconut
  • 6 green cardamoms, crushed
  • 2 teaspoon ghee
  • A Pinch of food colour of your choice
  • 40 grams cashew nuts, chopped
