Preparation Method :
- Grind the dhal, gradually adding little water to make a thick, slightly coarse batter.
- Add the onions, green chilies, coriander and ginger and mix well. Adjust seasoning with salt.
- Heat the oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium heat.
- Place a damp cloth on your palm and put about 1 ½ tablespoon of batter on it.
- Form the batter into a doughnut shape and transfer the vadai directly into the hot oil. Fry till one side is cooked and golden brown. Turn and fry the other side, till golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels. Make the remaining vadai in the same way.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney.
INGREDIENTS
- 200 grams urad dhal, rinsed, soaked and drained
- 50 grams finely chopped fresh coriander
- 50 grams finely chopped onions
- 2 green chilies, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- Salt, to taste
- Peanut/IDHAYAM Sesame Oil for deep-frying
