Preparation Method :
- The Tempering: Heat the oil in a wok over medium heat. Add the tempering ingredients. Allow the cumin seeds to turn brown.
- Add the onions, tomatoes, garlic and ginger. Stir-fry for a 1-2 minutes.
- Mix in turmeric, chili and cumin powders with little warm water.
- Add black pepper and cumin powder. Adjust the seasoning with salt and chili. Cover and cook for few minutes.
- Add prawns. Cover the skillet and cook for 5 minutes. Add coriander leaves and stir-fry uncovered for an additional few minutes before serving.
INGREDIENTS
- 500 Grams fresh prawns, shelled, de-veined, washed and drained
- 60 grams finely chopped onions
- 6 garlic cloves, chopped
- 3 tablespoon minced fresh ginger
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 100 grams chopped tomatoes
- Red chili powder, to taste
- ½ teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1 teaspoon black pepper and cumin powder
- 30 grams chopped fresh coriander leaves
Tempering
- 1 tablespoon Cooking oil
- Few curry leaves
- ½ teaspoon fennel seeds
