Preparation Method :
- Boil 4 cups of water in a pan over medium heat. Add the tomatoes and cook uncovered till tender.
- Stir in the tomato puree with spice powder and adjust seasoning with salt. Stir well.
- Add the spring onions, ginger and garlic. Continue simmering over medium heat for 2 minutes.
- When the rasam comes to a boil, add the prawns. Cook over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes or until prawns turn pink. Stir in the coriander leaves and serve hot.
INGREDIENTS
- 250 Grams fresh prawns, peeled, deveined, washed and drained
- ½ teaspoon black pepper and cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon rasam powder
- 75 grams coarsely chopped tomatoes
- 50 grams tomato puree
- 30 grams chopped spring onions
- ½ teaspoon minced fresh ginger
- 1 garlic clove, crushed
- Salt, to taste
- 30 grams chopped fresh coriander leaves
