Preparation Method :
- Pour the almond mix with the remaining milk into a heavy- bottomed pan and over low- medium heat. Stir occasionally, till it comes to a boil.
- Add the remaining ingredients, except the fruit cocktail. Cook, stirring frequently, till it comes to a boil.
- Remove the pan from heat and set aside till cool.
- Add the fruit cocktail along with its syrup into the cooled mixture. Stir gently, till well blended.
- Leave the payasam in the refrigerator till it is time to serve.
INGREDIENTS
- 750 ml milk
- 250 Grams canned mixed fruit cocktail
- Sugar, to taste
- 1 teaspoon powdered green cardamom
- 75 grams almonds, soaked, peeled, drained and ground with a cup of milk
- Few strands of saffron
- A pinch of saffron strands
