KARTOFFELKLOESSE (POTATO DUMPLINGS)

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • In saucepan heat margarine and sauté the bread till it turns brown and keep it aside.
  • Keep separately 2 tablespoons flour for dusting while preparing dumplings.
  • Make dough with remaining flour with potatoes, egg, and seasonings.
  • Make 12 equal mounds from the dough.
  • Dust the hand with reserved flour and shape mounds into balls.
  • Press 2-3 bread cubes into each ball and seal them to form dumplings.
  • In saucepan boil water. Put the dumpling with the help of spoon. Make sure that the dumplings sink to the bottom.
  • After the dumplings rises to the surface then simmer for 3 to 5 minutes longer.
  • Now take out the dumplings with a spoon and keep it on a serving platter.
  • Serve hot.

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • ½ loaf white bread (cut into cubes)
  • 200 gram flour
  • 250 gram boiled, peeled and cooked potatoes
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • pepper for seasoning
