CAFE BRULOT (COFFEE WITH SPICED BRANDY)

5 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Mix the cinnamon, fruit peels, clove and sugar in a chafing dish.
  • Keep aside one table spoon cognac. Pour the remaining cognac into the pan and heat it at medium flame.
  • Remove from the flame And Pour over the spices
  • Ignite the 1 tablespoon and add flaming to the chaffing dish.
  • When the cognac in the dish ignites, ladle the flaming liquid over the sugar to melt it.
  • Add the coffee and stir well.
  • Allow it to warm in the chafing dish with the spiced brandy for 1 minute.
  • Extinguish the chafing dish flame.
  • Serve the hot café brulot. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 broken sticks cinnamon 
  • 2 oranges (peel shredded)
  • 1 lemon (peel shredded)
  • 5 whole clove
  • 16 cubes sugar 
  • 250 ml cognac or bourbon 
  • 1 litre freshly made coffee (dark roasted)
