SPICY PORK BALLS

Preparation Method :

  • Place the minced (ground) pork in a large mixing bowl.
  • Add the shallots, garlic, cumin seeds, chili powder, breadcrumbs and beaten egg and mix together well.
  • Form the mixture into balls between the palms of your hands.
  • Heat the oil in a large preheated wok. Add the pork balls and stir-fry, in batches, over a high heat for about 5 minutes or until sealed on all sides.
  • Add the tomatoes, soy sauce and water chestnuts and bring to the boil.
  • Return the pork balls to the wok, reduce the heat and leave to simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Scatter with chopped fresh coriander (cilantro) and serve hot.
  • serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams minced (ground) pork
  • 4 shallots, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlics, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 50 grams whole meal breadcrumbs
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 4 tablespoons Cooking Oil
  • 500 grams can chopped tomatoes, flavoured with chili
  • 4 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 300 grams can water chestnuts, drained
  • 5 tablespoons chopped fresh coriander (cilantro)
