Preparation Method :
- Heat the groundnut oil in a large preheated wok or heavy-based frying pan (skillet).
- Add the onion slices, crushed garlic and Chinese five-spice powder to the wok or frying pan (skillet) and stir-fry for 1 minute.
- Add the Chinese sausage, carrots and green (bell) pepper to the wok and stir to combine.
- Stir in the risotto rice and cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually add the vegetable or chicken stock, a little at a time, stirring constantly until the liquid has been completely absorbed and the rice grains are tender.
- Snip the chives with a pair of clean kitchen scissors and stir into the wok with the last of the stock.
- Transfer the Chinese risotto to warm serving bowls.
- Serve immediately.

- 2 onions, sliced

- 500 grams Chinese sausage, sliced
- 500 grams carrots, diced
- 2 green (bell) pepper, deseeded and diced
- 400 grams risotto rice
- 1 liter vegetable or chicken stock
- 2 tablespoons fresh chives
