WONTON SOUP

Serves :
4

Preparation Time :
25 minutes

Cooking Time :
15 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Mix the ingredients of the filling and keep aside.
  • To prepare the wontons, mix all the ingredients of the wontons and knead it into a smooth dough using little water if necessary.
  • Wrap in a polythene and keep in the fridge for 1/2 hour.
  • Roll out the dough as thin as possible.
  • Cut about 3 inch square pieces.
  • Spread a little egg on the comers of each piece.
  • Put a teaspoon of filling in the centre. Bring opposite ends together and bind the two ends with egg. Keep wontons aside.
  • Slice the vegetables.
  • In a wok, bring chicken stock to a boil, drop in the wontons. Cover and cook over low heat for 8-10 minutes.
  • Then add the vegetables. Cook for 5 - 7 minutes. Lastly add aji-no-moto and salt.
  • Serve hot with chilli sauce and green chillies in vinegar.

INGREDIENTS

Wontons

  • 150 grams flour
  • 1 egg
  • Salt to taste

Filling

  • 75 grams finely chopped cooked chicken/pork
  • 4 finely chopped mushrooms
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon aji-no-moto

Soup

  • 1 litre chicken stock
  • 3 pieces of bamboo shoots - cut into slices (optional)
  • 1 carrot - cut into slices
  • 2 - 3 spinach leaves
  • 50 grams cabbage - cut into slices
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon aji-no-moto
