SIZZLING MONGOLIAN SCALLOPS

Preparation Method :

  • For this recipe you will need one sizzle plate, which consists of an iron plate that fits into a thick wooden mould of similar shape.
  • Heat the iron plate on top of your stove for 5 minutes before adding cooked ingredients. In a bowl combine scallops, soy sauce and sherry.
  • Heat oil in a wok. Add onion and stir fry 1 minute. Add ginger, scallops and marinade, stir-fry 2 - 3 minutes.
  • Blend in sauce ingredients and stir-fry until boiling.
  • Serve at once on hot sizzle plate.

INGREDIENTS

  • 750 grams scallops
  • 2 tablespoons light soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons dry sherry
  • 4 tablespoons Cooking oil
  • 2 large onions, cut in eighths
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger root

Sauce

  • 2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce
  • 3 teaspoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon five spice powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 4 teaspoons peanut butter
  • 4 tablespoons fish stock
