GOLDEN STEAMED CAKE

Preparation Time :
25 minutes

Cooking Time :
20 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Beat eggs and sugar in small bowl with electric mixer until thick.
  • Stir in milk and butter; fold in sifted flour and soda. Line an 18cm bamboo steamer with a sheet of greaseproof paper.
  • Pour the mixture into steamer .Cover, place steamer over wok or pan of boiling water, cook over high heat 15 - 20 minutes or until cooked.
  • Turn cake onto wire rack, spread with golden syrup, serve topped with cream and extra golden syrup; serve immediately.

INGREDIENTS

  • 100 grams brown sugar
  • 50 ml evaporated milk 
  • 50 grams butter, melted 
  • 150 grams self-raising flour 
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda 
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons golden syrup
