AUSSIE SAUSAGE ROLL

Preparation Time :

Cooking Time :
30 minutes

Preparation Method :

  • Melt the butter in a large frying pan.
  • Sauté the onion and carrot for 5 minutes or until they are tender.
  • Prepare the filling mixture by combining the onion, tomato sauce, parsley, sausage, beef mince, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper in a large bowl.
  • Cut the sheet of puff pastry in half.
  • Place 1 or 2 tea spoon of the filling mixture along the centre of the pastry.
  • Roll the pastry over to enclose the filling mixture.
  • Brush the edges with beaten eggs and close the ends.
  • Cut this into 3-4 pieces.
  • Repeat the same with remaining pastry and filling mixture.
  • Place sausage rolls on greased oven trays.
  • Brush with milk.
  • Bake it for about 15-20 minutes or until browned lightly at 180 degree Celsius.
  • Serve it with ketchup. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 400 grams ground Sausage
  • 400 grams Beef Mince
  • 2 sheets ready-rolled Butter Puff Pastry
  • 60 grams Breadcrumbs
  • 15 grams Butter
  • 1 Onion, chopped finely
  • 1 Carrot, grated
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon of water
  • 2 Tablespoons Tomato Sauce ketchup
  • 1 Tablespoon Parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 Tablespoons Milk
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
